The Wacom CTL-672 One Medium is in an awkward spot in India. At ₹4,299–4,799 from MDComputers, PrimeABGB, and Amazon India, it sits close enough to the XP-Pen Deco 01 V2 that the comparison is unavoidable - and on raw specifications, the CTL-672 loses. 2048 pressure levels versus 8192. No tilt versus 60 degrees of tilt. Smaller active area. And yet, I still recommend it to specific buyers, because specifications are not the whole story here. Let me be direct about exactly where it wins and where it does not.

What the CTL-672 Adds Over the CTL-472

The step up from the CTL-472 to the CTL-672 involves two meaningful differences: the active area grows from 152 × 95 mm to 216 × 135 mm, and you get three express keys on the left edge of the tablet.

The active area increase is significant. 216 × 135 mm maps more comfortably to a 1080p or 1440p display - the wrist movements feel more natural, and long sessions (two-plus hours) are less fatiguing. If you are doing Photoshop or Illustrator work for a college assignment or freelance project, the medium active area is a genuine ergonomic improvement over the small. This is the primary reason to choose the CTL-672 over the CTL-472.

The three express keys are useful but not transformative. Most Photoshop users map them to undo, zoom, and brush size - which saves reaching for keyboard shortcuts repeatedly. It is a quality-of-life feature, not a capability difference.

Everything else is identical to the CTL-472: the same EMR pen technology, same 2048 pressure levels, same no-tilt limitation, same USB-A hardwired cable, and the same Wacom 6.3.x driver.

The Awkward Price Bracket Problem

Here is the honest assessment I have to give: at ₹4,299–4,799, the CTL-672 is competing directly with the XP-Pen Deco 01 V2 (₹3,299–3,799). The XP-Pen has a larger active area (254 × 158.75 mm vs 216 × 135 mm), four times the pressure levels (8192 vs 2048), tilt support (60 degrees vs none), eight express keys plus a scroll wheel, and costs ₹500–1,000 less.

The only objective argument for the CTL-672 over the Deco 01 V2 is driver stability and brand trust. That is a real argument - the Wacom driver genuinely is more stable on Indian Windows installs than the XP-Pen driver - but it is not a spec-sheet win. You are paying the Wacom premium for peace of mind, not for better drawing performance.

Whether that trade-off is worth it depends on how you plan to use the tablet. If you are a design student doing Photoshop assignments on a deadline, you cannot afford a driver desync the night before submission. The Wacom premium is justified there. If you are a hobbyist with time to troubleshoot, the Deco 01 V2's spec advantage is real.

The active area diagram shows it clearly. The CTL-672 is a meaningful step up from the CTL-472 in workspace. But the Deco 01 V2 is larger still - and cheaper. The CTL-672 does not win the area comparison, only the driver comparison.

India Pricing, Availability, and Driver Notes

Current pricing (June 2026): ₹4,299–4,799 at MDComputers, PrimeABGB, and Amazon India. Vedant Computers occasionally stocks it but availability is inconsistent - I would not rely on them as a primary source for this product.

Wacom India warranty is 1 year, serviced through Acro Engineering. The service network is the same as for any Wacom product - seven major cities, 2–3 week turnaround. If you are in a tier-2 city, the process requires shipping the tablet to the nearest Acro service city, which adds transit time.

One practical note: the three express keys on the CTL-672 are mapped through the Wacom driver software. The mapping survives sleep/wake cycles and Windows Update restarts reliably. This is worth mentioning because on some third-party tablets, hardware button mapping can reset after driver updates.

Who Should Buy the CTL-672

Buy it if you need a medium active area and want Wacom driver reliability. This is the specific scenario where the CTL-672 makes sense: you know you will use the tablet daily, you do not want driver grief, and the CTL-472's small active area is not enough for your workflow. The CTL-672 is the right upgrade path within the Wacom One range.

Buy it if you are a design student or illustrator who primarily uses Photoshop or Illustrator and wants the express keys for workflow efficiency. The keyboard shortcut mappings on the three express keys are well-implemented in the Wacom driver and do save meaningful time over repetitive workflows.

Buy it if you are an art teacher or tutor buying tablets for students and need a hassle-free setup across multiple machines. The Wacom driver deploys cleanly across multiple Windows installs, which matters if you are setting up several tablets at once.

Skip it if you are comparing it to the XP-Pen Deco 01 V2 and tilt support or pressure levels are part of your requirement. The Deco 01 V2 wins that comparison outright.

Skip it if you are above the hobbyist level and expect to use the tablet more than four hours a day. At serious usage levels, the 2048 pressure level limit is noticeable in blending and pressure-sensitive brushwork. Step up to the Wacom Intuos Medium (CTL-6100) or a Huion Kamvas GT-series.

Skip it if you are on a tight budget and trying to get the most drawing capability per rupee. At this price, the Deco 01 V2 is objectively more tablet for less money.
