Transfer Speed and Thermal Performance

The M2PVC3-G20 uses the ASMedia ASM2364 bridge chip, which is what enables the Gen 2x2 throughput. In practice, with a Samsung 970 Evo Plus or WD SN770 inside, you will see sequential reads around 1,800–1,900 MB/s and writes in the 1,600–1,750 MB/s range - provided the host port is genuinely Gen 2x2. You care about sustained performance in Indian summer heat and do not want a plastic enclosure that throttles after five minutes.

Skip this if:

Your motherboard is B450 or older, or you have not confirmed that your specific B550/X570/B650 board has a Gen 2x2 port.
