I use mine primarily for DaVinci Resolve shortcuts and OBS scene switching, not gaming. That's increasingly how most Indian buyers use these - YouTube creators, video editors, WFH professionals who want one-key access to Zoom mute, Slack, or browser macros. The Twitch India scene is real but small; YouTube India is where the volume is, and the MK.2's software ecosystem maps perfectly to a YouTube creator's workflow.

What the 15 LCD Keys Actually Give You

The core feature of the MK.2 is that every key has a small customizable LCD display behind it - you see exactly what each key does at a glance. This sounds obvious but it matters in practice. When I have 15 keys mapped across DaVinci, OBS, and browser macros, muscle memory alone would not cut it. The icons keep me oriented without lifting my eyes off the monitor.

Key quality is good, not exceptional. The actuation is clicky and confident. After 18 months of daily use in my editing setup mine show no ghosting on the LCDs and no key wobble. Software Depth: The Elgato Ecosystem

Elgato's companion app (simply called "Stream Deck") runs on Windows and macOS. The interface is drag-and-drop. You create profiles per application and the deck auto-switches profiles when you switch the foreground app - my editing profile loads when DaVinci is in front, my OBS profile loads during streams, and a general-purpose layer handles everything else.

The plugin marketplace is the strongest part of this ecosystem. Third-party developers have built integrations for tools as niche as Notion page switching and Home Assistant device control. If something is missing, the Multi-Action function lets you chain any sequence of keypresses, delays, and app launches behind a single key.

One honest limitation: the software is Elgato-only. If you buy a Stream Deck MK.2 and later decide to switch to a competitor's hardware, your profiles do not transfer. You are in the ecosystem. For most buyers that is fine because the ecosystem is genuinely good - but it is worth knowing going in.

That duty structure means the MK.2's price is directly tied to the USD/INR exchange rate. In a year where the rupee weakens, you can see this product creep ₹1,000–1,500 higher without any change in the product itself. I have tracked it fluctuate between ₹11,500 and ₹13,500 over 18 months. If you see it at ₹11,999 during a sale, that is a genuinely good price - buy it then.

Warranty is two years from Elgato, but the service reality in India is limited to authorized service centers in Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, and a few other metros. For most Indian buyers, a hardware failure means shipping the unit back yourself. Elgato's support process is primarily email/ticket-based, which works but is slow compared to brands with physical service networks. In my experience, the product is reliable enough that this has not been a practical issue - but factor it into your decision if you are outside a major city.

Who Should Buy the MK.2

Buy it if: You are a YouTube creator or video editor who runs OBS or DaVinci Resolve and wants a productivity upgrade that will last years. You have 15+ actions you want one-key access to. You want the widest software ecosystem available in this category. The ₹12,499 price is within your budget and you are buying this as a long-term tool, not a trial.

Skip it if: You are unsure whether you will actually use a macro pad. In that case, try the Mini at ₹5,999 first - if you hit the 6-key ceiling in two months, you will know the MK.2 is worth the upgrade. Also skip it if you primarily run mobile workflows or ChromeOS; the companion software requires Windows or macOS.

The WFH use case is underrated. I have teammates who use the MK.2 with nothing streaming-related mapped - pure Zoom, Slack, Google Meet, and browser shortcuts. At ₹12,499, if it saves you 30 seconds on 50 repetitive actions a day, the ROI math works quickly.
