Loupedeck Live Plus: The Step Between Stream Deck and Loupedeck CT

The Loupedeck lineup in India presents a specific challenge: the CT is ₹35,000 and the original Live is discontinued in most markets. The Live Plus at ₹24,999–25,999 is where most buyers land - and it occupies an interesting middle ground that's genuinely worth understanding before you spend.

Where It Sits in the Lineup

The Live Plus improves on the original Live with a larger touchscreen strip, more tactile dials, and better software performance. Compared to the CT, it drops the CT's large haptic central wheel and the more extensive button layout, but keeps the core dials-plus-touch-buttons concept intact.

Twelve customizable touch buttons sit in the center. Six analog dials line the top. The touchscreen strip along the bottom gives you swipeable panels for additional controls. The device runs Loupedeck's software, which supports per-app profile switching.

The Analog Dials Argument

This is the thing a Stream Deck can't do. Physical dials for continuous adjustment - audio levels, color grade sliders, timeline scrubbing - feel fundamentally different from pressing a button. In Lightroom, having six dials mapped to Exposure, Contrast, Highlights, Shadows, Saturation, and Vibrance means color grading happens at the speed of thought. Reaching for a software slider and clicking is a different cognitive mode entirely.

If you spend significant time doing color work in Lightroom, Capture One, or DaVinci Resolve, or mixing in a DAW, the dials justify the price over a Stream Deck. If your workflow is primarily OBS scene switching and browser navigation, the dials add nothing.

India Pricing and Import Reality

At ₹24,999–25,999, you're paying a significant India premium over global retail. Loupedeck has no authorized India distributor as of June 2026. All units are grey market imports from Amazon India third-party sellers or specialist electronics retailers.

That means no official warranty service in India. If a dial develops a fault or the touchscreen layer fails, you're either shipping it abroad or eating the loss. At ₹25,000, this is a meaningful risk that it wasn't at ₹5,000. I think of it as self-insuring - either buy knowing you might lose the full amount to a hardware failure, or add it to your mental cost of ownership.

Comparing to the CT

The CT at ₹35,000 adds the large haptic central wheel (which is genuinely excellent for scrubbing and scrolling tasks), more physical buttons, and a slightly more premium build. The haptic wheel is the main functional difference - it's more precise and satisfying than any of the dials on the Live Plus.

If you're on a budget of ₹25,000, the Live Plus is what you get. If you can stretch to ₹35,000 and the CT's capabilities match your workflow, get the CT instead. Don't treat ₹10,000 as small money just because both are expensive.

Honest Downsides

The touchscreen strip on the Live Plus is not as responsive as I'd like. It works, but it doesn't feel premium. The original Live had similar criticism, and the Plus hasn't entirely solved it.

Software stability has improved over the years but still has occasional hiccups - profile switching doesn't always trigger instantly when you switch applications.

Verdict

The Loupedeck Live Plus is a strong tool for working creators with color or audio workflows who want the dial experience without the CT's full price. The grey-market import situation is a genuine concern, but if you're committed to the Loupedeck ecosystem and the CT is out of budget, this is the logical choice.
