The C925e sits in a strange spot in India. At ₹7,999–8,999, it costs significantly more than the C920 (which delivers essentially the same video quality) and is priced more like a premium lifestyle cam. The difference? The C925e carries a business-grade badge, ships with RightLight 3 auto-exposure, and adds H.264 hardware encoding to reduce CPU load on video calls. Whether those additions justify the premium over cheaper alternatives is what I want to dig into.
What Works
The RightLight 3 auto-exposure handles Indian office environments decently — tubelight-heavy rooms, windows behind you, the typical domestic WFH chaos. It recovers faster than most budget cams when lighting shifts. The 78-degree field of view is appropriate for solo calls; it doesn't pick up the mess behind you like ultrawide cams tend to.
H.264 hardware encoding is the main differentiator. On older Core i5 laptops — which a lot of India's WFH workforce is still running — offloading encoding to the camera reduces stuttering during screen-share-plus-video calls. It's a practical benefit if your machine is from 2018–2020.
Build quality is noticeably better than the budget tier. The clip mechanism doesn't wobble, the swivel feels stiff, and the USB cable is braided.
What Doesn't Work
1080p/30fps is the ceiling — no 60fps, and the sensor isn't notably sharper than the C920. For the ₹8,000+ price, that's disappointing. There's also no Windows Hello support, which you'd expect at this price.
The "business" positioning doesn't add much for individual buyers. Features like centralized management via Logi Tune are mainly useful in enterprise IT deployments. If you're buying one for yourself, you won't use most of what the "e" suffix theoretically offers.
