Keychron K2 Pro Review India — Best 75% QMK Wireless Keyboard Under ₹9,000
Keychron K2 Pro Wireless Mechanical Keyboard — India Review
The K2 Pro is what the K2 V2 should have been. USB-C charging, QMK/VIA support for full key remapping, updated PCB, and the same excellent 75% aluminum frame — all at ₹7,999–8,999 in India. If you're choosing between the V2 and the Pro at similar prices, the Pro wins unless you can find the V2 significantly discounted.
What the Pro Adds Over the V2
QMK/VIA is the big one. QMK is open-source keyboard firmware that lets you remap every key, create macros, set per-layer behavior, and do things like turn the keyboard's RGB into a CPU usage indicator. VIA is a graphical interface for QMK remapping that doesn't require compiling code. For programmers, power users, or anyone who wants their keyboard to behave exactly as they want, this is significant.
USB-C charging replaces the V2's Micro-USB. In 2026, this matters — you can use the same cable as your phone, power bank, and laptop. The braided USB-C cable included is good quality.
The stabilizers on the Pro come pre-lubed from the factory and sound noticeably better than the V2 out of the box. Space bar and larger keys are quieter with less rattle. For a keyboard at ₹8,000, that build polish is appropriate.
The hot-swap version — available on Amazon India — uses a socket PCB that accepts both 3-pin and 5-pin MX-compatible switches. If you buy the hot-swap Pro, you can swap in any switch from Gateron, Durock, Boba, or anything else you prefer, without soldering. That makes the keyboard a longer-term investment.
Wireless and Battery
Bluetooth 5.1 with three-device pairing, same as the V2. Battery is 4,000mAh. With RGB on, expect 2–3 weeks of daily office use. RGB off extends that to 6–8 weeks. The USB-C wired mode works simultaneously for charging and use.
Bluetooth stability is solid in my experience. Multi-device switching via Fn+1/2/3 is instantaneous — I switch between a Windows desktop and MacBook Pro multiple times daily without issues.
India Pricing and the Import Reality
At ₹7,999–8,999, the K2 Pro includes GST in the listed Amazon India price. The price reflects import duty on a product manufactured outside India — Keychron ships from Hong Kong/China. There are no Keychron service centers in India.
Warranty claims go through Amazon India's return/replacement process for the first 30 days, and directly through Keychron's email support after that. The keyboards are reliable enough that most buyers never need warranty service, but it's the reality of buying an imported premium keyboard in India.
MDComputers and PrimeABGB sometimes stock Keychron products — worth checking if you want it from an authorized Indian retailer with more established RMA processes.
Who Should Buy This
Programmers and power users who want QMK remapping. Mac-and-PC switchers who need true multi-device wireless. Anyone who wants the K2 V2 and hasn't bought it yet — spend slightly more for the Pro instead. Home office workers who want a compact, clean, cable-free desk.
Who Should Skip This
Users who need numpad access regularly. Anyone for whom local in-person warranty service is non-negotiable. Budget-constrained builders — at ₹8,000+, this is a deliberate premium purchase, not something to default to.
Questions
A: USB-C vs Micro-USB, QMK/VIA support vs no firmware customization, better factory-lubed stabilizers, and a slightly updated PCB layout. At the same price point, always choose the Pro.
A: QMK runs on the keyboard's firmware — once you program a layout using VIA or QMK Toolbox on a computer, the keyboard stores it internally and works that way even when connected to any other device.
A: Amazon India typically stocks Gateron Red (linear), Brown (tactile), and Blue (clicky). The hot-swap version is sometimes available — worth checking as it gives you switch flexibility without soldering.
A: Bluetooth connection works with Android, iOS, and iPadOS as well. The Windows/Mac toggle on the side controls modifier key remapping — for Android/iOS use, the Mac mode typically works better.
