I've recommended the Keychron K2 V2 to more people than any other keyboard in the ₹7,000–9,000 range. It's the keyboard I moved to after years of full-size boards, and I haven't looked back. At ₹7,999–8,999 in India, it's not cheap — but it delivers a combination of build quality, switch choice, and wireless functionality that nothing else at this price matches.

Layout, Build, and Why 75% Makes Sense in India

The 75% layout keeps your function row, arrow keys, and a slimmed-down nav cluster — everything most people actually use daily — while cutting the numpad. The result is a keyboard roughly 30% smaller than full-size, which matters when Indian desk spaces are often compact in apartments and PG accommodations.

The aluminum frame version (which I'd recommend over the plastic version, despite the ₹500 price difference) feels genuinely premium. No flex, no rattle, solid typing platform. The V2 revision fixed the older V1's issues with key wobble and stabilizer rattle — the stabilizers come pre-lubed and sound noticeably better out of the box.

Switch options available in India include Gateron Red (linear), Brown (tactile), and Blue (clicky) for the non-hot-swap version. If you get the hot-swap version — available on Amazon India — you can swap in any 3-pin or 5-pin switch later, which is a real advantage if your preferences change.

Wireless Performance and Battery Life

Bluetooth 5.1 connects to up to three devices and you switch between them with Fn + 1/2/3. I use this daily between my PC and MacBook without issue. Connection stability is solid — I've not experienced input drops on the V2, unlike some older Bluetooth keyboards that stutter under 2.4GHz interference.

The 4,000mAh battery lasts 2–3 weeks with RGB on, and considerably longer with RGB off. In India, where power cuts can happen in tier-2 and tier-3 cities, the Micro-USB charging (the V2 still uses Micro-USB, not USB-C — a legitimate annoyance) means you need to keep the right cable around. Keychron fixed this in the K2 Pro, but V2 buyers should note it.

India Pricing and Availability

At ₹7,999–8,999, you're paying a premium over budget options — and a chunk of that is import duty and GST on a product that comes from outside India. Keychron sells directly through Amazon India, and you'll occasionally find it on Flipkart. MDComputers and PrimeABGB do stock it, though availability fluctuates.

There's no Keychron-authorized service center network in India as of mid-2026. If something goes wrong after the warranty period, you're dealing with Amazon's return window or direct international correspondence. For most buyers this hasn't been an issue — the keyboards are reliable — but it's worth knowing.

Who Should Buy This

You want a compact wireless mechanical keyboard that doesn't feel like a compromise. You work across a PC and a MacBook or iPad and need seamless multi-device switching. You're building a clean, cable-free desk setup. The aluminum version specifically is worth it if desk aesthetics matter to you.

Who Should Skip This

If you need a numpad for data entry or accounting work, this layout will frustrate you. If you're not willing to learn slightly modified key positions for Home/End/PgUp/PgDn (accessed via Fn layer on the K2), the adjustment period is real. And if after-sales service in India is a firm requirement, know that Keychron's support is limited here compared to brands distributed by Rashi Peripherals or Acro Engineering.
