Logitech MK215 Wireless Keyboard and Mouse Combo Review — Best Budget Wireless Combo in India
Logitech MK215 Wireless Keyboard and Mouse Combo — India Review
Wireless keyboard and mouse combos at under ₹2,000 are a category where you either get Logitech or you get something you'll regret. The MK215 has been in the Indian market for years — long enough that I've seen it deployed in offices, home setups, and school computer labs across the country. At ₹1,699–1,999, it's the wireless combo I recommend without hesitation to anyone who needs the basics done well.
The Combo in Practice
The MK215 uses Logitech's Unifying receiver — a small USB dongle that handles both the keyboard and mouse. One receiver, two devices. If you lose or damage the receiver, that's a problem (you can't just use any Logitech receiver — it needs to be the paired one), so tuck it away carefully.
Wireless range is rated at 10m, and I've found 6–8m works reliably in a normal room with walls. Response lag is imperceptible for office tasks — typing a document or browsing feels identical to a wired keyboard. For gaming, it's a different story, but this combo wasn't built for that.
The keyboard has a compact layout — slightly narrower than full-size — which some people will like and others won't. The numpad is present, just slightly slimmed. Key travel is short, consistent with Logitech's office-grade membrane keyboards. Battery life is rated at 2 years for the keyboard and 12 months for the mouse, both using AA batteries. Logitech's battery-life estimates are generally accurate in my experience.
The included mouse is a basic optical mouse — 1000 DPI, three buttons, scroll wheel. It's small-to-medium sized, ambidextrous, and doesn't have adjustable DPI. For office use, it's adequate. For gaming or design work, you'll want a dedicated mouse.
India Pricing and Availability
At ₹1,699–1,999, the MK215 combo is sold on Amazon India, Flipkart, Croma in-store, and through local Logitech distributors. Logitech's India distribution is excellent — Acro Engineering handles a significant portion of their distribution, and availability in tier-2 cities is genuinely good compared to brands that are Amazon-only.
Warranty is 3 years, which is exceptional at this price. Logitech's India customer support is reachable and functional — I've had combo replacements processed cleanly through the warranty process.
Note that the MK215 needs AA batteries, not rechargeable ones. Over a year, you're spending ₹100–200 on batteries, which is a running cost worth factoring in. If that bothers you, look at the MK470 Slim at a higher price which includes a USB-C rechargeable receiver.
Who Should Buy This
Home users who want a clean desk without cables. Families sharing a single PC. Office setups where wireless is preferred for desk cleanliness. Anyone who's been using a cheap no-name wireless combo and wants something that actually works reliably.
Who Should Skip This
Gamers — the latency is not suitable for competitive gaming and the mouse is too basic. People who type heavily all day — the membrane feel gets tiring. If you need just a keyboard and already have a mouse, buying the combo isn't cost-efficient; look at a standalone wired option.
Questions
A: The nano-receiver is tiny — about 5mm sticking out of the USB port. On laptops, it works perfectly and doesn't get in the way. You can leave it plugged in while carrying the laptop in a bag.
A: You can buy a Logitech Unifying receiver separately and re-pair both the keyboard and mouse to the new one using Logitech's free Unifying software. It's a straightforward process.
A: Yes — plug the receiver in and it works immediately on Windows, macOS, and Linux without any software installation.
A: The 2.4GHz radio signal isn't affected by humidity. The bigger monsoon concern is keeping battery contacts dry if the keyboard gets wet, which can cause corrosion over time.
