Leading With the Number That Matters

I'll say it upfront: across all eleven B660 boards I've reviewed in this batch, the B660M Pro RS is the cheapest, at ₹10,199. That's the whole pitch. It's not the fastest, it's not the most feature-rich, it's the board you buy when every rupee saved here goes toward your GPU or your storage instead.

It shares the "Pro RS" DNA with its full-size sibling, the B660 Pro RS, just shrunk into mATX. Same basic VRM philosophy, same two M.2 slots, same no-WiFi, Realtek-LAN approach. ASRock barely had a B660 presence on GetPC before this batch of reviews, and this board is the entry point into that lineup.

Standard B660 rules apply here too. It runs 12th-gen chips natively, and 13th/14th-gen non-K chips like the Core i5-13400F and i5-14400F work after a BIOS update, do that update before you assume a compatibility problem if you're combining an older board with a newer CPU. No CPU multiplier overclocking on B660 (Z-series only), though DDR4 XMP tuning works as expected.

The gap to the full ATX version is only about ₹1,700. Pay it if you want more physical expansion room, skip it if you're building compact or the ₹10,199 price point is the whole point.

What You're Not Getting

No WiFi (budget an adapter or run Ethernet), a VRM that's fine for stock clocks but not built for pushing headroom, and no CPU overclocking support anyway since that's a B660 limitation, not specific to this board. This is a board built to be forgotten once it's doing its job, not fussed over.

Who Should Buy / Who Should Skip

Buy this if absolute lowest price on a working B660 board is your priority, and you're building compact with a non-K 12th/13th/14th gen chip at stock clocks.

Skip this if you want built-in WiFi, more than two M.2 slots, or you're building in a full-size case where the ATX sibling makes more sense for the small price difference.
