The MEG (MSI Enthusiast Gaming) line sits at the very top of MSI's motherboard hierarchy, above MPG, above Pro, above everything else with an MSI logo on it. The ACE badge specifically has carried MSI's most extreme feature sets since the X570 days, and the Z890 ACE continues that tradition for Intel's Core Ultra 200 series "Arrow Lake" platform.
This is not a board most builders need. It's a board a specific type of builder wants, the kind who's running a Core Ultra 9 285K, cares about memory overclocking headroom, wants the fastest storage and networking money can buy on this socket, and isn't flinching at a ₹130,999 price tag. MSI's top-tier boards consistently post some of the highest validated DDR5 memory speeds in the industry, aided by a well-tuned memory subsystem and MSI's Memory Try It profiles in BIOS that let you dial in aggressive XMP/EXPO-adjacent speeds without manually hand-tuning every timing.
For Arrow Lake specifically, memory speed has a real, measurable impact on gaming performance because of how the platform's memory controller and fabric interact with frame times. If you're running a Core Ultra 9 285K and pairing it with high-speed DDR5 (7200MT/s and above), a board built for aggressive memory tuning like the ACE will extract more of that CPU's actual gaming potential than a budget board that maxes out at stock JEDEC speeds.
Who Should Buy the MEG Z890 ACE
Buy this if you're building a genuine no-compromise flagship system around the Core Ultra 9 285K, you want maximum Gen5 storage and top-tier networking without stepping outside MSI's ecosystem, and ₹130,999 is a rounding error against the rest of your build (a 5090-class GPU, for instance). This is also the right pick if you specifically want the gold-accented aesthetic in a showcase build.
Skip this if you're running a Core Ultra 5 245K or Core Ultra 7 265K, where a board this extreme is wasted, or if the current stock situation means you can't get one when you need it. Most builders, even enthusiast ones, get better value from the MPG Z890 Carbon WiFi or the ASUS ROG Maximus Z890 Hero, both of which deliver 90% of the real-world experience at roughly half the price.

Only if you're already building at the very top of the market. The performance difference between this and a ₹50,000 Z890 board in day-to-day gaming is close to zero. What you're buying is VRM headroom for extreme CPU loads, extra Gen5 M.2 slots, top-tier networking, and build quality that shows up in longevity, not benchmarks.
