Razer Goliathus Chroma Extended Review India 2026 — Premium RGB Mousepad Worth It?
Razer Goliathus Chroma Extended — India Review 2026
The Razer Goliathus Chroma Extended is the most recognisable RGB mousepad sold in India. It's the product you see in every "best gaming setup" photo on Indian PC forums, and for good reason — the Chroma lighting is genuinely the best-looking edge lighting on any mousepad at this price.
At ₹4,699–5,299 in India, it's also the most expensive cloth pad in this list. The question is whether that premium over options like the Cybeart Aurora RGB or the ASUS ROG Scabbard II is justified.
Surface Feel and Durability
The Goliathus surface is micro-textured cloth — Razer offers this in Speed and Control variants. The Speed variant has a tighter weave for faster glide; the Control variant has more texture for precision. For most buyers in India, I'd recommend Control for all-purpose gaming.
Surface tracking is clean. Every optical sensor I've tested on the Goliathus has tracked without issues, including high-end PixArt 3395 and 3370 sensors. The Speed edition in particular has one of the more consistent surfaces I've used for high-DPI tracking.
The stitched edges are well-finished and hold up to daily use. The rubber base on the Goliathus is better than most competitors — it doesn't shift even on desks with some texture or slight slope. After 12+ months of use, the base has not shown peeling on any unit I've tracked.
Razer Chroma integration is the headline: if you own a Razer mouse, keyboard, or headset, the Goliathus syncs with all of them through Synapse 3. The lighting effects become cohesive across your entire desk. Without other Razer products, it still looks excellent — just less impactful.
India Availability and Value
Razer has strong distribution in India. Amazon India, Flipkart, MDComputers, PrimeABGB, and Croma all carry the Goliathus Chroma Extended. Warranty is 1 year with Razer India's authorised service network, which is more accessible than most gaming peripheral brands in the country.
At ₹4,699–5,299, you're paying Razer brand tax. The surface is excellent but not meaningfully better than the HyperX Fury S or SteelSeries QcK+ for pure gaming performance. You're paying for the lighting system and the Chroma ecosystem integration.
Who Should Buy the Goliathus Chroma Extended
Buy this if you have a Razer-heavy setup and want the ecosystem lighting sync. Also buy it if you're building a premium gaming desk setup where aesthetics are part of the goal — see /builds/T06. The Goliathus Chroma is the reference RGB mousepad in this price range; nothing else in India looks quite as good.
Who Should Skip It
Skip this if you don't have other Razer Chroma products — you're paying a premium for ecosystem features you won't fully use.
Skip it if surface performance alone drives your decision. At ₹4,699–5,299, the Glorious 3XL is a better pure performance choice at a similar price point with far more surface area.
Also worth noting: cloth pads in India's humid climate need regular washing. At ₹5,000+, it feels more precious than it should be for something you need to hand-wash every few months.
Questions
Yes. Razer India warranty is 1 year. Purchase from Amazon India, Flipkart, or authorised retailers like MDComputers for a valid India warranty. Grey-market imports exist — avoid them.
Control for most users. The Speed edition is very fast and requires more precise muscle memory. Control gives better stopping power, which is forgiving across different game types and DPI settings.
No. Default lighting patterns work out of the box. Synapse 3 is required only for custom lighting configurations and ecosystem sync.
