We've covered the Samsung 9100 Pro at 1TB and 2TB on this site before, Samsung's flagship PCIe Gen5 line, built around their own in-house controller and V-NAND, consistently near the top of every independent benchmark chart for consumer Gen5 drives. What we hadn't covered was the 4TB variant, and it's a meaningful gap, because 4TB is where this drive stops being a "fast boot drive" and starts being a genuine primary storage solution for people with large local libraries or professional workloads.
The 4TB model is now confirmed and stocked at Computech Store and MDComputers at ₹87,999. Same Samsung Pascal-class controller, same TLC V-NAND, same rated speeds as the 2TB model, sequential reads up to roughly 13,400 MB/s, sequential writes close behind. At this capacity and speed tier, cooling isn't optional. Samsung's 9100 Pro throttles under sustained load without proper heatsink contact, and in Indian ambient heat during summer months, that's not a fringe scenario. If your board doesn't have a robust M.2 heatsink, buy the heatsink-included variant or add an aftermarket one. Case airflow matters too, drives buried under a GPU with no direct airflow in a poorly ventilated case will throttle even with a heatsink attached.

Buy it if: you work with large media files professionally, run demanding local workloads (VMs, large codebases, big datasets), or are building a single flagship machine you want to not think about storage on for years.
