The Z790 LiveMixer is ASRock's oddball entry in this batch, a Z790 board built specifically around streaming and content-creation USB needs rather than raw gaming specs. Five physical M.2 sockets, but M2_1 and M2_2 are mutually exclusive: up to four onboard drives. Using Gen5 M2_1 reduces the GPU slot to x8. WiFi requires a separate module.

A Z790 Board With a Different Job
Most Z790 boards are built around gaming: VRM headroom, RGB, PCIe lane counts for GPUs. The LiveMixer takes the same Z790 platform and points it at a different problem: how do you run a mic, a capture card, a webcam, an audio interface, and a controller off one board without USB power issues or signal noise bleeding into your stream audio.
ASRock calls its dedicated USB power feature Ultra USB Power. Its stated purpose is cleaner USB power; GetPC has not measured microphone noise or capture-card dropouts on this board, so treat that as a design feature rather than a guaranteed cure.
Ports and Audio
You're looking at 14 total USB ports on the rear I/O: two USB 3.2 Gen 2 (10Gbps) Type-C, two more 10Gbps Type-A, four Gen 1 (5Gbps) ports, and six USB 2.0 ports for keyboards, mice, and other low-bandwidth peripherals. There are also dedicated "Lightning" gaming USB ports running through a separate controller, aimed at keeping mouse polling stable even when the rest of the USB bus is busy.
Audio runs through the familiar Realtek ALC897 codec with Nahimic software, plus optical S/PDIF out for anyone running external audio gear. It's not a dedicated ESS DAC setup, but it's a clean step up from bare-minimum onboard audio.
Storage is five physical M.2 sockets: one Gen5 and four Gen4. M2_1 and M2_2 cannot be populated simultaneously, so plan for at most four onboard drives. Using Gen5 M2_1 reduces the GPU slot to x8. The board has four DDR5 slots and 2.5GbE.
India Pricing
₹27,500–29,500 at PrimeABGB. It sits just above the Gigabyte Z790 Aorus Elite AX DDR5 and close to the ASRock Z790 Steel Legend WiFi DDR5, but it's solving a different problem than either of those.
Who Should Buy / Who Should Skip
Buy this if you need the 14 rear USB ports and have checked your capture-card connections and storage layout. Port count alone does not guarantee every device can transfer at full speed together.
Skip this if you need included WiFi or Bluetooth: the LiveMixer has a Key-E socket and antenna mounting points, but requires a separate compatible module. The Steel Legend WiFi DDR5 includes wireless networking.

Not really. The core gaming spec (VRM, M.2, PCIe) is comparable to ASRock's other mid-tier Z790 boards, so you're paying for USB/audio features you won't use. Get the Steel Legend or Pro RS instead.
No wireless module is included in the standard specification. A separate compatible Key-E module and antennas are required; 2.5G LAN is onboard.
ASRock describes isolated USB power, but we have not tested the noise or dropout difference. Check the affected device, cable and USB controller before attributing an audio problem to motherboard power.
