This is the one thing you need to understand before buying an RX 6500 XT: the card physically slots into a full x16 PCIe slot, but it's only wired for x4 lanes electrically. On an older PCIe 3.0 system, that same x4 link has roughly half the bandwidth, and this card genuinely suffers for it, especially in VRAM-hungry scenarios where data has to shuffle back and forth to system memory more often.
On top of the lane limitation, this card only has 4GB of VRAM on a narrow memory bus, which is genuinely tight for some modern titles at 1080p high settings, you'll want to keep textures at medium in VRAM-hungry games.
