Moving to Gold - Why It Makes Sense for Indian Builds

When you step from Bronze to Gold efficiency, you're looking at roughly 87–90% efficiency at 50% load versus 82–85%. At 375W average load (50% of 750W), a Gold unit draws about 417W from the wall while Bronze draws around 450W. Over a year of 6-hour daily gaming sessions, that's a real electricity savings - and on Indian per-unit electricity rates with tiered slabs, the difference compounds.

More importantly for India: Gold-grade capacitors and better internal design generally mean better voltage regulation under the brownout conditions common in Indian mains supply. The RM750e uses Japanese primary capacitors (105°C rated), which is what I look for when recommending PSUs to builders in Tier 2 cities dealing with unpredictable grid quality.

Efficiency, Ripple, and Protection Analysis

80+ Gold certified. At 50% load, Gamers Nexus measured efficiency at approximately 91–92% at 230V - above the Gold certification floor. That's strong.

12V ripple: measured at 15–25mV under full load in Tom's Hardware testing - excellent for a Gold unit at this price. Comparable to PSUs costing ₹2,000–3,000 more. For OCers running Ryzen 7 7700X + RTX 4070 Ti, this level of ripple gives me confidence.

The RM750e is semi-modular: the 24-pin ATX and EPS CPU cables are non-removable (attached permanently), while PCIe and SATA/Molex cables are modular. For most mid-tower builds this is absolutely fine - you're routing the ATX and EPS cables regardless. Where it matters is SFF cases where every cable counts. For those, spend more on the Corsair RM850x full modular.

Protection: OCP, OVP, UVP, OTP, SCP - full suite. Corsair's fan in the RM750e is a 120mm FDB unit with a zero RPM mode below 15% load. Silent during light use.

Counterfeit warning: Corsair RM series units are counterfeited - particularly older RM650/RM750 models. The RM750e is newer and less targeted, but always buy from Rashi-authorized retailers. The "e" box has distinct packaging; fake units often use older RM box designs. Check Corsair's serial number verification tool online.

Who Should Buy This / Who Should Skip It

Buy if:

• Building an RTX 4070, RX 7800 XT, or RTX 4070 Ti system
• Ryzen 7 7700X or Core i7-13700K pairing - 750W gives good headroom
• You want Gold efficiency and Corsair's warranty support in India
• Semi-modular is acceptable (most mid-tower builds it is)

Skip if:

• You need fully modular for SFF or tight cable management cases - get the RM850x instead
• You're on a 550W-appropriate build - overspending on 750W isn't necessary
• Budget allows for Seasonic Focus GX-650 - technically more refined, though pricier
