Why X570 Still Matters on AM4 in 2026

AM5 gets the marketing attention, but AM4 hasn't gone anywhere in Indian retail. Ryzen 5000 CPUs, especially the 5600X, 5700X3D, and 5800X3D, remain cheap and widely stocked, and a huge number of builders are either doing a fresh budget build on AM4 or upgrading an older Ryzen 1000/2000/3000 rig with a drop-in CPU swap. The question that comes up constantly is why spend on X570 instead of the cheaper B550.

The honest answer: native PCIe 4.0 across the board, not just on select slots depending on which B550 SKU you bought, and meaningfully stronger VRMs on the mid-to-upper X570 boards, which matters if you're running a 5900X or 5950X with all 12 or 16 cores loaded for any length of time. A 5800X3D doesn't need much VRM headroom since it's capped low on power draw, but a 5900X under sustained multi-threaded work will happily pull past what a budget B550 board is comfortable delivering long-term. X570 is AM4's proper high-end tier, and until this batch, GetPC had zero coverage of it.

What Makes the Steel Legend Worth the Price

You get a genuinely robust VRM for this price tier, ATX layout with a PCIe 4.0 x16 slot and a heatsink-covered PCIe 4.0 M.2 for your primary drive, plus a second M.2 off the chipset. 2.5G LAN is standard here, which is a real step up from the 1G LAN still common on cheaper boards.

For a 5800X3D or 5600X build, this is genuinely more board than you strictly need, but the price gap over the cheaper Phantom Gaming 4 is small enough that I'd spend up for it anyway, you get better sustained power delivery, a nicer heatsink setup, and 2.5G LAN. For a 5900X, this is the board I'd actually recommend rather than just tolerate, the VRM has real headroom for all-core workloads without needing to step up to Taichi money.

₹17,799-21,135 at PrimeABGB and MDComputers, both regular stockists rather than flash-sale listings, so availability has been consistent. That range reflects normal retailer variance rather than a stock issue, unlike the Taichi below it in ASRock's lineup, which has had genuine availability problems.

Buy this if you're building or upgrading an AM4 system around a 5800X3D, 5900X, or 5700X3D and want a board with real VRM headroom without paying flagship prices.

Skip this if you're on a strict budget and running a 5600X at stock, the ASRock X570 Phantom Gaming 4 will do that job for less. Also skip if you specifically want built-in WiFi, this board is wired-only, look at the Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite WiFi instead.
