ASRock B650M Pro RS WiFi Review India 2025 - Best Value mATX AM5 Motherboard
If the B650M HDV/M.2 is the floor of B650 mATX on AM5, the ASRock B650M Pro RS WiFi is the sensible mid-point - the board that adds WiFi, a second M.2 slot, and better VRM without jumping to premium pricing. At ₹14,000–18,000 in India, it sits in a competitive segment, but ASRock's value positioning and BIOS quality make it a genuine recommendation rather than just a compromise.
I have tracked ASRock's AM5 BIOS development since the platform launched, and they have been consistently faster than their market position would suggest - Zen 5 support, memory compatibility updates, and AGESA updates have all rolled out in reasonable timeframes. That matters on a platform as new as AM5 where BIOS maturity is still catching up.
What the B650M Pro RS WiFi Delivers
The board is mATX, AM5 socket, DDR5 - standard B650 foundation. Where it steps ahead of the HDV/M.2: the VRM moves up to a 10+2+1 phase configuration. That is enough headroom for Ryzen 7 9700X (65W TDP, 88W PPT) at stock, and PBO tuning is viable without thermal stress on the VRM.
Two M.2 slots - both PCIe 4.0 x4 - handle a boot SSD and a secondary storage NVMe simultaneously. WiFi 6 (not 6E - that matters for the spec-conscious, but WiFi 6 is entirely adequate for home and office use at real-world speeds). 2.5G LAN via Realtek is present alongside the wireless. The rear panel USB selection is reasonable - USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A and Type-C on the rear panel, USB 2.0 headers for chassis connections.
BIOS on ASRock B650 boards is clean, updated regularly, and less confusing than some ASUS Prime implementations at this price. XMP/EXPO memory profiles load reliably - important since DDR5 kit compatibility was a known issue on early AM5 boards.
India Pricing and Availability
At ₹14,000–18,000, the B650M Pro RS WiFi sits between the entry HDV/M.2 and the more premium MSI MAG B650M Mortar or ASUS Prime B650M-A WiFi. MDComputers Kolkata carries it consistently and is my preferred source for ASRock in India. Amazon India also lists it, and PrimeABGB Mumbai is another solid option. 3-year warranty through ASRock India.
Who Should Buy This Board
This is the board for Ryzen 5 7600 and Ryzen 7 9700X mATX builds where WiFi is needed and the budget lands in the ₹14,000–18,000 range. It handles both those processors well at stock and with light PBO tuning. If you are building a compact gaming PC in India and do not want to spend ASUS Prime money, this is a legitimate alternative with good BIOS support.
Who Should NOT Buy This Board
Skip it for Ryzen 9 chips - VRM is not in the right tier for sustained 9900X or 9950X loads. Skip it if you want PCIe 5.0 M.2 - this is a PCIe 4.0 board. If future-proofing for Gen 5 SSDs matters to you, look at the ASRock B850M Pro RS WiFi instead.
Questions
ASRock typically undercuts ASUS by ₹2,000–4,000 at the same feature level. ASUS Prime BIOS has more features for manual tuning enthusiasts, but for most users, ASRock's BIOS is cleaner and sufficient. Warranty and distribution quality are comparable.
Via EXPO profiles, yes. DDR5-6000 is the AMD-recommended sweet spot for Ryzen 7000/9000. The board handles it reliably with compatible kits - check ASRock's QVL list for confirmed DDR5 kits available in India.
MDComputers Kolkata has the widest ASRock stock and competitive pricing. Amazon India is a viable option for Prime delivery. Avoid grey-market sellers for warranty reasons.
