Not to Be Confused With the Full ATX Elite

The B550M AORUS Elite covered here is a distinct SKU, the mATX version, smaller form factor with a mostly equivalent feature set. If you're comparing the two by name alone it's easy to mix them up, so check the "M" in the name before you buy.

Gigabyte's VRM design on the mATX Elite carries over Fins-Array heatsinks and a solid multi-phase power stage setup that handles a Ryzen 7 5700X well, and I'd still trust it with a Ryzen 5800X3D at stock clocks for most builds, though the Steel Legend or full ATX Aorus Pro give you more thermal margin if you're planning long sustained workloads on top of gaming.

Storage and Connectivity

Dual M.2 slots are standard here, one PCIe 4.0 off the CPU for your primary drive, one PCIe 3.0 off the chipset for secondary storage. Four SATA ports round out the storage options, which is plenty for an mATX build. Realtek Gigabit LAN handles wired networking, there's no WiFi on this base Elite SKU, if you want WiFi in the same mATX Aorus family, the Gaming X WiFi6 covers that.

Price ranges reflect sale pricing on Amazon.in and Flipkart, both boards fluctuate depending on ongoing offers, so it's worth checking both before buying either.

Who Should Buy / Who Should Skip

Buy this if you want a solid mATX B550 board for a Ryzen 7 5700X gaming build, don't need WiFi, and are watching for a sale price closer to the ₹11,249 end of the range.

Skip this if you need WiFi (get the Gaming X WiFi6), you're in a full ATX case with room to spare (the Aorus Pro V2 gives more VRM headroom for not much more), or you're on a strict budget (the ASRock B550M Pro4 at ₹9,000 covers a Ryzen 5 5600 build for less).
